Beautiful Baltics

Come see the world through Women's Eyes!

For 27 years, IWSI has conducted women's cross-cultural travel-study programs around the world. In our unique Institute programs, we explore women of the past and present. We interact intensively with women in other countries and honor them through visits to their sites and participation in their special traditions. We build community within our Institutes and make lasting connections among our participants. In the past, we have traveled to Greece many times, and Turkey, Israel, Kenya, Hawaii, Australia, the Baltics and Spain.

In January, 2009, IWSI returns to Guatemala where we had a fantastic institute in February, 2008! Our second Guatemala institute, Women Changing the World, features women's experiences in helping change the world at home and abroad.

Join us for 10 days -- from January 10 to 19 -- of Mayan sunshine on gorgeous Lake Atitlan and encounters with women of Guatemala. Our basic fee is $1500 and includes hotel, gourmet vegetarian breakfast and dinner for 7 nights, all transportation within Guatemala (bus to and from Lake Atitlan, boat trips on lake, airfare to Flores for our visit to Tikal), and three new women's studies workshops. Our first day and evening will be spent in Antigua, Guatemala's beautiful colonial city. Then we will spend a week at Lake Atitlan. We will close with a two-day visit to the ancient Mayan city of Tikal. Please search the web for photos of Antigua, Lake Atitlan and Tikal.
