IWSI Alumnae -- Come Celebrate IWSI's 30th Anniversary

June 17 - 22, 2010!!

 
IWSI invites you to its 30th Anniversary Institute in California!  We will celebrate WHAT WE'VE LEARNED with workshops on spiritual, social, political and artistic themes.  Participants will have a broad range of workshops to choose from.  You must choose 4 workshops ($35 each) but you may choose more!  Our grand celebration will be on Jujne 21, the Summer Solstice.

The Institute wil be held at Mountain Home Ranch, a beautiful retreat center halfway between Santa Rosa and Calistoga, in California's wine country.  The ranch has incredible recreational facilities (2 pools, tennis, lake, hiking over 300 acres, sulphur spring tub) and wonderful meeting spaces.  It also has many room configurations -- doubles, singles, cottages -- which will be made available on a first come, first served basis.  There will be a required Institute meal from the ranch's great kitchen each day -- all other meals are optional. Wine will be courtesy of IWSI!

Workshops will be presented by IWSI alumnae.  Workshop leaders are asked to submit a proposal for a 2-hour workshop by September 15, 2009 for consideration by the IWSI Board of Directors.  All workshop fees will be paid to the workshops leaders.

For alumnae outside northern California, you can fly to Oakland, San Francisco or Santa Rosa and take an airline bus to Santa Rosa where IWSI will provide transportation to Mountain Home Ranch.

We currently estimate the cost of the Institute at $615.  This includes 4 workshops, rooms, Institute meals, and administrative fee.  Final cost will vary -- higher or lower -- depending on how many meals and workshops are chosen and choice of room arrangement.

For 28 years, IWSI has conducted women's cross-cultural travel-study programs around the world. In our unique Institute programs, we explore women of the past and present. We interact intensively with women in other countries and honor them through visits to their sites and participation in their special traditions. We build community within our Institutes and make lasting connections among our participants. In the past, we have traveled to Greece many times, and Turkey, Israel, Kenya, Hawaii, Australia, the Baltics, Spain and Guatemala.
